Susan Sekaquaptewa (B.S./M.A.) is a member of the Hopi Tribe, from the village of Sitchomovi. She works as the Assistant Agent for the University of Arizona’s Federally Recognized Tribal Extension Program serving the Hopi community. In this position, she develops community programs, fosters partnerships, and organizes and plans educational workshops and activities related to building a healthy community. Susan’s programs include agricultural education in livestock, herd health, rangeland; horticultural and backyard gardens; food safety and preservation; financial education; 4-H Club and youth development programs. She is also a trained facilitator, offering these skills in project, organizational and board planning. She is an active organic gardener and cattle rancher. Both of which she does with her husband and son.
