Robert Figueroa

Dr. Robert Figueroa is Associate Professor of Environmental Justice and Philosophy in the School of History, Philosophy, and Religion at Oregon State University. He pursues a philosophy of environmental justice that extends across numerous domains, such as Latino/a issues, climate refugees, Indigenous environmental heritage, critical tourism studies, resettlement communities, environmental colonialism, environmental discrimination, and discriminatory environmentalism across a multitude of cases around the world. He is the director of the Environmental Justice Project for the Center for Environmental Philosophy. His scholarship has been funded by the NSF, including his co-edited volume with Sandra Harding, Science and Other Cultures: Issues in the Philosophies of Science and Technology (Routledge 2003). He also edited the Special Issue on Ecotourism and Environmental Justice for the Journal of Environmental Philosophy. He is currently completing his book Environmental Justice as an Environmental Ethic.
