Abandonment
Probably abandoned when the kiva suite was abandoned--sometime after A.D. 1266.
Construction
The many tree-ring dates available for this burned structure span A.D. 911vv to 1266r. There are weak date clusters and numerous cutting dates. Several cutting dates are in the mid-A.D. 1260s; however, these beams could have been stockpiled. Possibly the best inference is that this structure was built in 1266 (the latest date), using many reused beams and some stockpiled beams.
Remodeling
Remodeling includes the addition of a masonry-walled bin in the southern recess (Feature 15), a metate bin (Feature 16) on the floor along the west wall of the kiva, and a masonry column (Feature 26) on Bench 4 (Feature 10); a pit (Feature 18) in Bench 4 (Feature 10) also might not have been part of the original construction of the kiva. The hearth (Feature 17) and subsequent intrusive firepits (Features 19 and 20) also are evidence of remodeling. There are no means by which to date any of these constructions.
Reuse
No clear evidence.
