Arbitrary Unit 101, not further specified
About this Nonstructure
General Location
Central portion of the site.
Specific Location
Directly above and adjacent to Structure 102.
Selection Criteria
Selected to expose and excavate the underlying great kiva (Structure 102).
Use
Disturbed Basketmaker III midden and recent modern deposits in and around the great kiva depression. Modern artifacts such as nails, plastic, and burned brush are found throughout the deposit. This sediment was redeposited and disturbed with heavy machinary after the Woods Canyon Archaeological Consultants test excavation of the great kiva in 1991.
Abandonment
Not applicable.
Postabandonment Process
Not applicable.
Dating of Construction
The mixed fill of Arbitrary Unit 101 was re-deposited after the 1991 test excavation of the great kiva.
Dating of Remodeling
Not applicable.
Dating of Abandonment
In use to the present day.
Dating of Midden
The pottery is dominated by graywares dating to the Basketmaker III period but small amounts of Early Painted and Late Painted pottery attest to trace Ancestral Pueblo occupations after Basketmaker III.
Dating of Reuse
Modern disturbance in 1991.
