Arbitrary Unit 109, noncultural
About this Nonstructure
General Location
Arbitrary 109 extends throughout the entire site.
Specific Location
Arbitrary 109 extends throughout the entire site.
Selection Criteria
Units were placed judgmentally and randomly placed to investigate midden deposits and pit structures.
Use
Arbitrary 109 is undisturbed native sediment.
Abandonment
Not Applicable
Postabandonment Process
Structure 108 and 107 were built into and on Arbitrary 109. Nonstructure 110 and 111 were deposited through cultural means over Arbitrary 109. Arbitrary 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, and 106 were deposited through mechanical (chaining and burning) and natural processes (wind and water) over all of the aforementioned study units.

Location
2-x-1 meter grid unit, long axis oriented north-south 1691N 603E.
Near the center of the site.
Located over Structure 107, approximately 12 m northeast of the possible south midden.
Selection Criteria
Judgmental. This unit was selected in order to test Structure 107. Augering in this area before excavation confirmed the presence of a possible structure.
Excavation Strategy
Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels. Strata were subdivided into arbitrary 25-cm levels when applicable.
Unit Ends at
Structure floor. Excavations ended on the floor of Structure 107 (Surface 1) at an elevation of approximately 102.76 m. Feature 1 was associated with Surface 1. A subfloor test window was dug into the northwest corner of the unit; the bottom of this window was at an eleva
