East side of pueblo; lower portion of talus slope.
Specific Location
Immediately northwest of Structure 4-S, Segment 1.
Selection Criteria
This is one of three possible kivas that was selected by random means for testing in Sampling Stratum 2 (east half). This study unit encompasses the area above and just outside a kiva (Structure 4-S). See Structure 4-S for discussion of kiva.The only cultural deposit identified in this area was naturally redeposited secondary refuse (Nonstructure 12.1-N). All noncultural deposits have been grouped with this study unit (Nonstructure 12-N).

Selection Criteria
Random. One of three possible kivas selected for testing in Sampling Stratum 2 (east half); the edge of a possible kiva was identified at the south end of the excavation unit, near the base of the unit.
Excavation Strategy
Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels.
Unit Ends at
Fill continued. Edge of Structure 4-S identified at south end of unit; a large sandstone boulder reached in the rest of the unit.
