General Location
Northeast corner of pueblo; on canyon rim.
Specific Location
Defined as the nonstructural area within the rim complex.
Selection Criteria
Nonstructure 2 was stratified into two sampling strata to look for evidence of a plaza surface in the eastern two-thirds of the rim complex. Sampling Stratum 1 was defined as the flat, open area in the rim complex and four 1-x-1-m random units were excavated in this stratum. Sampling Stratum 2 was defined as the nonstructural area covered with rubble in the rim complex and four 1-x-1-m units were excavated in this stratum. One judgmental unit was opened in Sampling Stratum 2 because one of the random units needed to be expanded when a wall was found in the middle of the unit. In addition to the random testing, five judgmental units were opened to expose structures within the rim complex. A total of nine cultural deposits, including secondary refuse deposits and extramural surfaces with associated features, were exposed. Each cultural deposit was assigned a unique study unit number (Nonstructures 2.1-N - 2.9-N). All noncultural deposits have been grouped with this study unit (Nonstructure 2-N).
