General Location
West of main drainage; northwest quadrant of site. On steep talus slope.
Specific Location
Northwest corner of upper west side; south of a cluster of buildings that includes Structure 7.
Selection Criteria
Part of midden testing program that attempted to link midden areas with specific, datable structures. Nonstructure 3-N is defined as an area spatially associated with Structure 7 and other buildings in the northwest corner of the upper west side of the site. The boundaries of this study area were arbitrarily defined by estimating the probable location of trash from these buildings. Four 1-x-1-m excavation units were selected using a random numbers program. A total of five cultural deposits, including secondary refuse and extramural surfaces with associated features, were encountered. Each cultural deposit has been assigned a unique study unit number (Nonstructures 3.1-N - 3.2-N). All noncultural deposits are grouped with this study unit (Nonstructure 3-N).
