About this Nonstructure
General Location
East of main drainage.
Specific Location
On a slope, south of a ledge, where a kiva (Structure 4) and other structures are located.
Selection Criteria
Part of midden testing program. Selected to increase sample of cultural deposits from east half of the site. Nonstructure 7-N is defined as an area spatially associated with a kiva unit that includes Structure 4. The north boundary is defined by a retaining wall (Feature 2). The south boundary is located immediately north of a heavy concentration of rubble. The west and east boundaries were arbitrarily defined by estimating the probable location of trash from the Structure 4 kiva unit. Four 1-x-1-m excavation units were selected using a random numbers program. A total of four cultural deposits, including secondary refuse deposits and extramural surfaces with associated features, were identified and assigned unique study unit numbers (Nonstructure 8.1-N - 8.4-N). All noncultural deposits have been grouped with this study unit ( Nonstructure 8-N).
