Excavation Details for Excavation Units

In order by excavation unit number.

Excavation Unit

117

Location

2-x-2 meter grid unit 1421N 512E.
Northeast quarter of the site.
Located in the southeast quarter of Block 300, approximately 22 m southeast of Structures 312 and 324.

Selection Criteria

Judgmental. This unit was selected to investigate possible postholes associated with a stockade in the northeast portion of the Dillard Site.

Excavation Strategy

Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels. Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels.

Unit Ends at

Undisturbed native sediment. Excavation was terminated at an elevation of approximately 99.42 m. A 20 cm x 20 cm window was dug into the northwest corner of the unit to confirm the sterility of the deposit; the bottom of this window was at an elevation of 99.40 m.
