General Location
Northeast quadrant of site. Within rim complex on canyon rim.
Specific Location
West end of rim complex; immediately northeast of a tower.
Selection Criteria
Part of Nonstructure 2-N testing; see Nonstructure 2-N and associated EU for description and explanation of testing strategy.
Use
Extramural surface associated with the constuction of a wall (Feature 2).
Abandonment
Probably abandoned as part of the abandonment of the rim complex.
Postabandonment Process
Surface covered with postoccupational natural deposits and wall fall from nearby tower.
Dating of Construction
The types of pottery sherds found in the subfloor constructional fill indicate the surface was built between A.D. 900 and 1300.
Dating of Remodeling
No evidence of remodeling.
Dating of Abandonment
Probably abandoned at the same time the rim complex was abandoned as there are no later cultural deposits above this surface.
Dating of Midden
Not applicable.
Dating of Reuse
No evidence of reuse.
