Central portion of site.

Specific Location

Southwest portion of Block 100; within Backhoe Trench 127.

Selection Criteria

Nonstructure 131 was exposed in Backhoe Trench 127; a burial pit (Feature 1) was excavated into Surface 1 and Human remains occurrence 2 was interred into the pit.

Use

This is an extramural surface from which a burial pit (Feature 1) was excavated for the interment of Human remain occurrence 2 (Feature 2).

Abandonment

This surface was no longer used the interment of Human remains occurrence 2 (late Pueblo II period).

Postabandonment Process

After Human remains occurrence 2 was interred in a burial pit excavated from this surface, secondary refuse (Nonstructure 101) was deposited over the burial and surface.

Dating of Construction

There is no pottery data or any other diagnostic evidence to determine when this surface was used. Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 101), deposited during the late Pueblo II period, was deposited directly above this surface, indicating that this structure was used during the late Pueblo II period.

Dating of Remodeling

None evident.

Dating of Abandonment

This surface was no longer used after the late Pueblo II period.

Dating of Midden

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 101) was deposited above the burial (Feature 2) and surface after Human remains occurrence 2 was interred.

Dating of Reuse

None evident.
