Selection Criteria

Seventh 1-x-1-m unit randomly selected for excavation in Block 500; encountered Nonstructure 503 when a pit feature (Feature 1) was detected.

Use

This is an extramural surface from which a pit feature (Feature 1) was excavated.

Abandonment

Nonstructure 503 was abandoned during the Pueblo III period, probably in the early Pueblo III period.

Postabandonment Process

Natural sediments accumulated above the surface and pit; the upper portions were disturbed by plowing.

Dating of Construction

Based on surrounding Arbitrary 502 deposits, Nonstructure 503 most likely dates from the early Pueblo III period.
