South part of the site.
Specific Location
Along the north wall of the roomblock in Architectural Block 100.
Selection Criteria
Surface was encountered during excavations to expose a segment of the north wall of the adjacent roomblock.
Use
Outdoor surface associated with the construction and occupation of the roomblock in Architectural Block 100.
Abandonment
Abandoned when occupation of this area was discontinued.
Postabandonment Process
Covered with aeolian and alluvial sediments as well as collapsed wall material from the adjacent roomblock.
Dating of Construction
Surface appears to have been constructed when the adjacent roomblock was constructed; architectural style of the masonry appears to be Pueblo III (A.D. 1150-1300).
Dating of Abandonment
Pottery sherds found on this surface are of types that were produced during the late Pueblo II and the Pueblo III periods (between A.D. 1140 and 1300), and were probably deposited sometime during the occupation of the adjacent roomblock.
