General Location

Near the northeast corner of the great tower complex.

Specific Location

20 m east-northeast of Structure 1210.

Selection Criteria

Surface was encountered during excavations to expose architecture associated with the water-control features at the great tower complex.

Use

Type of use of this surface was not clear from the small amount of surface exposed, but it was probably used in association with the adjacent drainage.

Abandonment

Bedrock was abandoned as a surface as sediment accumulated on it.

Postabandonment Process

These processes did not affect this surface, as it was buried beneath sediment.

Dating of Construction

Surface was not constructed, but was probably used early in the occupation of this architectural block during the Pueblo III period (A..D. 1150-1300).

Dating of Abandonment

Bedrock surface was no longer used when sediment accumulated on it naturally.
