Outdoor use surface associated with Feature 1 (firepit).

Abandonment

Abandoned as a use surface when refuse was deposited in a firepit (Feature 1) and on the surface.

Postabandonment Process

Naturally deposited alluvial and aeolian sediments covered the secondary refuse.

Dating of Construction

Surface was not constructed (was prehistoric ground surface).

Dating of Abandonment

Pottery associated with this surface (Pueblo III White Painted) indicates that the surface was abandoned sometime after A.D. 1100.
