This surface was encountered during excavations to expose the north wall of this roomblock.

Outdoor use surface associated with the construction and occupation of Architectural Block 300.

Abandonment

Abandoned as a surface when refuse accumulated on it.

Postabandonment Process

Naturally deposited sediments and wall fall accumulated above the surface.

Dating of Construction

Presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white pottery in the secondary refuse below this surface indicates that the surface dates from sometime after A.D. 1180.

Dating of Abandonment

Presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white pottery in the secondary refuse below this surface indicates that the surface was used and also abandoned sometime after A.D. 1180.
