Surface was encountered during excavations to expose the outside face of the north wall of the roomblock.

Outdoor use surface associated with the construction and occupation of the roomblock in Architectural Block 400.

Abandonment

Abandoned when the occupation of this area ended.

Postabandonment Process

Covered with cultural material, wall fall, and naturally deposited sediment.

Dating of Construction

Surface was not constructed, but was first used sometime after A.D. 1180; this inference is based on the presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white sherds in the midden deposits (Nonstructure 404) below this surface.

Surface was used, and so was abandoned, sometime after A.D. 1180; this inference is based on the presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white sherds in the midden below this surface.
