Surface was encountered during excavations to expose the outside face of the north wall of the roomblock.

Outdoor use surface associated with the construction and occupation of the roomblock in Architectural Block 500.
Abandonment
Abandoned when occupation of this area ended.
Postabandonment Process
Covered with cultural deposits from roomblock occupation, then wall fall and aeolian/alluvial sediments.
Dating of Construction
The presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white pottery beneath this surface leads to the inference that this surface was used sometime after A.D. 1180.

This surface was abandoned sometime after A.D. 1180; this inference is based on the presence of Mesa Verde Black-on-white pottery beneath this surface.
