North part of the site.
Specific Location
At the north edge of the roomblock in Architectural Block 900.
Selection Criteria
Surface was encountered during excavations to expose a segment of the outside face of the north wall of this roomblock.
Use
Outdoor use surface associated with two firepits (Features 1 and 2). This surface was used prior to the construction and occupation of the roomblock in Architectural Block 900, which is above it (see stratigraphic profile).
Abandonment
Use surface was abandoned before the construction of the roomblock in Architectural Block 900
Postabandonment Process
Surface was covered by cultural deposits from the use of this area, then by the surface associated with the roomblock in Architectural Block 900
Dating of Construction
Surface was not constructed, but was used an unknown length of time after A.D. 1100. This inference is based on the location of this surface at the top of the fill of Structure 903 (pit structure), and on the presence of Pueblo III White Painted pottery on the floor of that structure.
