General description
Feature is a round, basin-shaped pit filled with midden deposits. Seven rocks cover the sides and bottom of the southeast portion of the feature.
Use history
Feature is an ephemeral pit and partially slab-lined. The stone is not thermally altered suggesting that the pit served as storage pit. Pit later filled with midden deposits.

Excavation procedure
The feature was initially thought to extend into the walls of the excavation unit, so it was divided into a southeastern Segment 1 and a northwestern Segment 2. Segment 1 was excavated first with a trowel; the fill was screened with 1/8" mesh. The resulting profile was mapped. Segment 2 was excavated next with a trowel, and the fill was screened with 1/8" mesh. As the feature was excavated, it became clear that it was smaller than first believed and was completely contained inside the excavation unit. A 2 liter flotation sample and a pollen sample were collected from the fill.
Portion excavated
The entire feature was excavated.
Horizontal location
Southwest part of 1-x1-m unit, 1393N 502E.
Vertical location
Dug into Surface 1.
Construction
Pit was dug into extramural Surface 1. Rocks line the southeast side of the feature and the southeast portion of the bottom. This could suggest that the entire pit was originally lined with slabs and that some were removed by root disturbance and bioturbation. The pit was left open and later filled with midden deposits
