Nonstructure 4.7-N, extramural surface

Features

Pit: not further specified (Feature 2) Top of page
General description
Small, elliptical pit.
Use history
If this is a pit feature, it appears to have been excavated into secondary refuse deposits, then later covered with other secondary refuse deposits. This feature, however, may be a rodent burrow instead as the fill is extremely loose. Arguments for it being a feature include the verticality of the walls and the fact that it very definitely has a base.
Associated features
None.
Excavation procedure
Upper third of pit was cut through before the pit was recognized in plan view; after recognition, fill inside pit was excavated separately.

Originated from Surface 3, which is the top of a secondary refuse deposit (Stratum B in PD record).
