Expedient fire pit in an extramural use area.

Excavation procedure
The pit was excavated with a trowel in a full cut. Four liters of fill were collected for flotation analysis.

Entire feature was excavated.
Horizontal location
In northwest portion of 1-x-2-m unit 489.8N 504.2E.
Vertical location
Top of feature is at Surface 1, or approximately 97.71 m.
Construction
A shallow, circular pit was excavated from Surface 1 into cultural fill; the pit was not prepared in any way.
