Function of pit is unknown due to the lack of internal characteristics; secondary refuse was deposited into the pit after it was no longer used for its original purpose.

Excavation procedure
The pit was defined and was excavated as Segment 1 in 10 cm levels with a trowel and screened with 1/4 inch screen. Artifacts were collected.
Portion excavated
All of Segment 1 within 436N 478E.
Horizontal location
In northwest portion of 1-x-1 m unit 436N 478E.
Vertical location
Pit top is approximately 32 cm from the modern ground surface.

A basin-shaped pit was excavated into the undisturbed native sediments (Surface 1); the pit was not prepared in any way.
