General description
Elliptical-shaped pit excavated into undisturbed native sediments.
Use history
Function of pit is unknown due to lack of internal features; secondary refuse was deposited into the pit after it was no longer used for its original purpose.

Excavation procedure
All of pit within the 1-x-1 m unit 557N 503E was excavated in 10 cm levels with a trowel and brush; dirt was screened with a 1/4 inch screen.

Horizontal location
Pit is located in the southeastern portion of 1-x-1 m unit 557N 503E.
Vertical location
Approximately 45 cm below the modern ground surface.
