General description
Pit excavated into midden deposits.
Use history
The function of the pit is unknown due to a lack of distinguishing characteristics. The pit was constructed after the abandonment of Structure 136 and the deposit of Nonstructure 130 midden.
Associated features
None.
Excavation procedure
The pit was not recognized during excavation and therefore, was excavated as part of the 2-x-2-m unit (Nonstructure 130, Stratum 1, Level 1, Provenience Designation 1149). The pit was detected in the north profile wall when mapping.
Portion excavated
An unknown amount of the south portion of the feature was excavated.
Horizontal location
In north-central portion of 2-x-2-m unit 489N 466E along north profile wall.
Vertical location
Top of feature is at Nonstructure 9006, Surface 1, or approximately 96.89 m.
Construction
A possible round, bell-shaped pit was excavated from Nonstructure 9006, Surface 1 into secondary refuse deposits. It did not appear that the pit was prepared in any way.
