General description
Circular, basin-shaped pit feature.
Use history
The original function of Feature 1 is unknown due to a lack of distinguishing characteristics. After the feature was no longer used for its original purpose, secondary refuse was deposited into the pit.

None.
Excavation procedure
Initially, the pit feature was not identified during excavation until undisturbed native sediments were reached and the outline of the pit was visible. All of the pit within the 1-x-1-m unit (Segment 1) was excavated with a trowel as a full cut. Fill was screened with a 1/4 inch screen.
Portion excavated
All of the pit within the 1-x-1-m unit (Segment 1).
Horizontal location
In all of 1-x-1-m unit 528N 504E, except for the northern 1/3.
Vertical location
Top of pit feature is at Surface 1, or approximately 98.25 m.
Construction
A circular, basin-shaped pit was excavated from Surface 1 into undisturbed native sediment. The pit was not prepared in any way.
