The original function of the feature is unknown due to a lack of distinguishing characteristics; after the feature was no longer used for its original purpose, secondary refuse was deposited into the pit.

Excavation procedure
All of the feature (Segment 1) within the 1-x-1-m unit was excavated as a full cut with a trowel; two liters of fill were collected for flotation analysis.

All of the feature (Segment 1) within the 1-x-1-m unit 519N 497E, was excavated.
Horizontal location
Southwest portion of 1-x-1-m unit 519N 497E.
Vertical location
Top of feature is at Surface 1, or 97.39 m.

A circular, basin-shaped pit was excavated from Surface 1 into undisturbed native sediment; the pit was not prepared in any way.
