Wall: other (Feature 16) Top of page
General description
Masonry wall enclosing Structures 405 and 406.
Use history
Unclear; wall appears to have been constructed to enclose kivas (Structures 405 and 406); might have served to channel runoff coming down slope from south away from the kivas. Could have served same function that Structure 408 (D-shaped structure) served for Structure 402 (kiva inside Structure 408), that is, to allow fill to be added inside the wall to bring the ground surface up around the kivas.
Associated features
Excavation procedure
Not excavated--exposed only.
Portion excavated
Only the portion in the excavation unit.
Horizontal location
Near north edge of site; occupies south half of one unit, north edge of another unit.
Vertical location
