East side of pueblo; lower portion of talus slope.
Specific Location
Immediately northwest of Structure 4-S, Segment 1.
Selection Criteria
Part of Nonstructure 12-N testing; see Nonstructure 12-N and associated excavation unit for description and explanation of testing strategy.
Use
Refuse that has been naturally redeposited; mixed with natural deposits; believed to have been deposited after occupation; refuse probably originated from kiva suites north of and upslope from this area.
Abandonment

Dating of Midden
Based on pottery data, this refuse was deposited during Pueblo III times. Because the trash has been redeposited, it may have come from multiple sources and probably includes materials that were deposited at different times.

Northwest of Structure 4-S, Segment 2; northwest corner of a possible kiva depression.
Selection Criteria
Random. One of three possible kivas selected for testing in Sampling Stratum 2 (east half); the edge of a possible kiva was identified at the south end of the excavation unit, near the base of the unit.
Excavation Strategy
Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels.
Unit Ends at
Fill continued. Edge of Structure 4-S identified at south end of unit; a large sandstone boulder reached in the rest of the unit.
