About this Nonstructure
General Location
Upper west side. On a slope, immediately west of main drainage. Below a ledge where a cluster of buildings that includes Structure 8 ( a tested kiva) are located.
Specific Location
Upper fill of 1-x-1-m 443N 464E (EU 17), 1-x-1-m 443N 467E (EU 18), 1-x-1-m 445N 465E (EU 19), 1-x-1-m 445N 468E (EU 20), 1-x-1-m 441N 464E (EU 43), and Segment 2 (EU 44). Rests above Nonstructures 7.2-N, 7.3-N, and 7.4-N.
Selection Criteria
Part of Nonstructure 7-N testing; see Nonstructure 7-N and associated EU's for description and explanation of testing strategy.
Use
This is a mixed deposit of secondary refuse and wall collapse; most of the refuse is believed to have been naturally redeposited during postoccupationl times when structures were also collapsing; the refuse originated from the structures (including a tested kiva, Structure 8) on a ledge to the north.

Dating of Midden
Based on pottery data, this refuse was discarded in Pueblo III times.

Judgmental. Selected in hopes of increasing the sample of artifacts from secondary refuse contexts in Nonstructure 7; specific location selected because there are boulders to the south that may have prevented refuse from eroding downslope.
