About this Nonstructure
General Location
Upper west side. On a slope immediately west of main drainage. Below a ledge where a cluster of buildings that includes Structure 8 (a tested kiva) are located.
Specific Location
1-x-1-m 443N 464E (EU 17), 1-x-1-m 445N 465E (EU 19), and 1-x-1-m 441N 464E (EU 43). Rests below Nonstructure 7.1-N.
Selection Criteria
Part of Nonstructure 7-N testing; see Nonstructure 7-N and associated EU's for description and explanation of testing strategy.
Use
Refuse discarded from the structures on a ledge to the north; refuse appears to be in situ or has only shifted slightly from its original place of deposition.
Abandonment
Not applicable.
Postabandonment Process
Covered with postoccupational wall fall and naturally redeposited secondary refuse.
Dating of Midden
Based on pottery data, this refuse was deposited in late Pueblo II and Pueblo III times.

Judgmental. Selected in hopes of increasing the sample of artifacts from secondary refuse contexts in Nonstructure 7; specific location selected because there are boulders to the south that may have prevented refuse from eroding downslope.
