About this Nonstructure
General Location
Upper west side> On a slope, immediately west of main drainage. Below a ledge where a cluster of buildings that includes Structure 8 (a tested kiva) are located.
Specific Location
Lower fill of Segment 2 (EU 44). Rests below Nonstructure 7.1-N and above Nonstructure 7.4-N.
Selection Criteria
Part of Nonstructure 7-N testing; see Nonstructure 7-N and associated EU for description and explanation of testing strategy.
Use
Thin ash deposit interpreted as secondary refuse; believed to be from the structures on a ledge to the north.
Abandonment
Not applicable.
Postabandonment Process
Covered with postoccupational wall fall and naturally redeposited secondary refuse.
Dating of Midden
Based on pottery data, this refuse was deposited in Pueblo III times. Based on stratigraphic position, this deposit postdates another refuse deposit (Nonstructure 7.4-N).

Judgmental. Selected in hopes of increasing the sample of artifacts from secondary refuse contexts in Nonstructure 7; specific location selected because unit is almost directly below the bench on which Structure 8 and associated structures were built.
