About this Nonstructure
General Location
East of main drainage. On a slope, south of a ledge, where a kiva (Structure 4) and other structures are located.
Specific Location
1-x-1 m 386N 541E (EU 72), 1-x-1 m 388N 543E (EU 73), and 1-x-1 m 391N 540E (EU 74); Nonstructure 8.2-N, a surface, is within this deposit.
Selection Criteria
Part of Nonstructure 8-N testing; see Nonstructure 8-N and associated EU's for description and explanation of testing strategy.
Use
Secondary refuse that has been naturally redeposited; mixed with natural deposits; most of this redeposition occurred after occupation, however, some of the redeposition occurred during occupation as a wall was built when this deposit accumulated; based on the close proximity of this study unit to Structure 4, a tested kiva, the refuse probably originated from this kiva unit, however, some of the refuse may have also come from structures further upslope and north of Structure 4 or the architecture northeast of this study unit.

Dating of Midden
Based on pottery data, this refuse was discarded in late Pueblo II and Pueblo III times.
