Nonstructure 101, midden
About this Nonstructure
General Location
Southeastern portion of site.
Specific Location
West of Architectural Block 1100; southeast of Structures 116, 117, and 150.
Selection Criteria
Fifteen 1-x-1-m units were randomly placed to sample Nonstructure 101 midden deposits; Five 1-x-1-m units (Excavation Units 381-385) were judgmentally placed to test a possible foot path identified by the electrical resistance survey.
Use
Secondary refuse deposited by residents living in nearby structures (Structures 116, 117, and 150).
Abandonment
Pottery data indicates that refuse was not deposited after the Late Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural sediments accumulated above the secondary refuse deposits; the upper portion of these deposits were disturbed by plowing.
Dating of Midden
Nonstructure 101 was deposited during the Middle Pueblo II period to the Late Pueblo III period.
