Central portion of Architectural Block 100; northeast of Structure 113; below Structure 125; 504.5N 511.2E.

Selection Criteria

1-x-2-m unit judgmentally placed to test a surface room.

Use

Nonstructure 138 refuse was either deposited as a construction fill for the masonry foundation of Structure 125 or the refuse was discarded by nearby residents.

Abandonment

This deposit was sealed by the construction of Structure 125 in the Early Pueblo III period.

Postabandonment Process

Structure 125 was constructed above Nonstructure 138 deposits.

Dating of Midden

Nonstructure 138 refuse was deposited in the Late Pueblo II or Early Pueblo III periods. The pottery ratio is 1:2 Mancos Black-on-white to McElmo Black-on-white. Pueblo III white ware sherds are also present in the assemblage.

Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels. Excavated in 10 cm levels. Continued into Nonstructure 138 at approximately 98.01 m.

Undisturbed native sediment.
