Selection Criteria
1-x-2-m unit judgmentally placed to test a masonry surface room, Structure 142. Nonstructure 152 deposits were inside of Structure 142.
Use
Nonstructure 152 secondary refuse was deposited in Structure 142 during the Early Pueblo III period. The pottery ratio from the fill of Nonstructure 152 is 1:4:1, Mancos, McElmo, and Mesa Verde Black-on-white respectively.
Abandonment
Nonstructure 152 refuse was no longer deposited in Structure 142 after the Early Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural wind and water sediments and architectural debris coved Nonstructure 152.
Dating of Midden
Nonstructure 152 secondary refuse was deposited in Structure 142 during the Early Pueblo III period.
