Selection Criteria

1-x-2-m unit judgmentally placed to test Structure 140; Nonstructure 157 was below Structure 140, Surface 1.

Use

Nonstructure 157 was deposited in the Late Pueblo II period. Mancos Black-on-white pottery dominate this assemblage with a small amount of McElmo mixed in. This fill may have been intentionally deposited as a platform for the construction of the great house core, which includes Structure 140 located above this deposit.

Abandonment

Nonstructure 157 was no longer deposited in the Late Pueblo II period. Structure 140 was constructed above this deposit.

Structure 140 was constructed above Nonstructure 157.

Dating of Midden

Nonstructure 157 was deposited in the Late Pueblo II period.
