West-central portion of site.

Northwestern portion of Architectural Block 100; below Structure 142, Surface 1; above Structure 158; 500.3N 491E.
Selection Criteria
1-x-2-m unit judgmentally placed to test a masonry surface room, Structure 142. Nonstructure 161 deposits were below Structure 142, Surface 1.
Use
Nonstructure 161 was deposited in the Late Pueblo II or Early Pueblo III period. It is unclear which period the refuse dates from because the floor surface (Surface 1) in Structure 142 was heavily disturbed by weathering and rodent damage. Therefore Nonstructure 161 is not a sealed context and may contain refuse from Nonstructure 152. Structure 142 was constructed above Nonstructure 161 and was constructed in the early A.D. 1100s.
Abandonment
Nonstructure 161 refuse was no longer discarded when Structure 142 was constructed.
Postabandonment Process
Structure 142 was constructed on Nonstructure 161.
Dating of Midden
Nonstructure 161 refuse was deposited either in the Late Pueblo II or Early Pueblo III periods.
