1-x-2-m unit judgmentally placed to test a masonry surface room, Structure 144.
Use
Nonstructure 188 is refuse deposited in the Early Pueblo III period. Although there was no pottery in the fill, Nonstructure 189, located below Nonstructure 188, dates from the Early Pueblo III period and Structure 144, located above Nonstructure 188, was constructed in the Early Pueblo III period. It is possible that Nonstructure 188 refuse was intentionally deposited as a construction platform for the foundation of Structure 144.
Abandonment
Nonstructure 188 refuse was no longer deposited after the Early Pueblo III period. Structure 144 was constructed on this fill in the Early Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Structure 144 was constructed on Nonstructure 188 during the Early Pueblo III period.
Dating of Midden
Nonstructure 188 refuse was deposited in the Early Pueblo III period.
