Selection Criteria
1-x-2-m unit judgmentally placed to expose the exterior face of the south wall of Structure 195.
Use
Nonstructure 197 is an extramural surface from which a pit, Feature 1, was excavated into undisturbed native sediment. Nonstructure 197 was in use during the Early Pueblo III period as inferred from pottery found in the fill of Feature 1.
Abandonment
Nonstructure 197 fell out of use by the Early Pueblo III period. This inference is based on pottery found in the fill of Feature 1.
Postabandonment Process
Nonstructure 196 refuse covered the surface in the Early Pueblo III period.
