Selection Criteria
Five 1-x-1-m units were randomly selected for excavation in Nonstructure 501 to sample midden deposits.
Use
Secondary refuse was deposited by nearby residents (Structure 502) during the Early Pueblo III period.
Abandonment
Pottery data indicates that refuse was not deposited after the Early Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural sediments accumulated above the midden deposits.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse was deposited in this area during the Early Pueblo III period.
