Selection Criteria
Secondary refuse excavated in a 2-x-2-m unit; unit was judgmentally placed to test a possible pit structure (Structure 803) identified as a remote sensing anomaly during the 2001 electrical resistance survey.
Use
Nonstructure 804 refuse was deposited into Structure 803 in the Early Pueblo III period by nearby residents.
Abandonment
Nonstructure 804 refuse was no longer deposited after the Early Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural wind and water sediments accumulated over Nonstructure 804 deposits.
Dating of Midden
Nonstructure 804 refuse was deposited into Structure 803 in the Early Pueblo III period.
