Central portion of site.
Specific Location
South-central portion of Block 100. Within the depression of Structure 119. 2-x-2-m unit 483.5N 519.5E.
Selection Criteria
2-x-2-m unit 483.5N 519.5E was judgmentally selected to test Structure 119. Nonstructure 9002 was exposed above the roof sediments of Structure 119.
Use
Nonstructure 9002 secondary refuse was deposited into the depression of Structure 119 in the Early Pueblo III period. The ratio of pottery from the deposit is 8:9:7, Mancos, McElmo, and Mesa Verde Black-on-white, respectively.
Abandonment
Nonstructure 9002 refuse was no longer discarded after the Early Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural wind and water sediments accumulated over Nonstructure 9002.
Dating of Midden
Nonstructure 9002 refuse was deposited into the depression of Structure 119 in the Early Pueblo III period.

Judgmental. 2-x-2-m unit judgmentally placed to test possible pit structure.
Excavation Strategy
Strata subdivided into arbitrary levels. Excavated in 20 cm levels. 2-x-2-m unit was reduced to two .50-x-.50 m units and one 1-x-2-m unit at approximately 96.14 m (see PD 357) and the 1-x-2-m unit was excavated to the structure floor.
