Use

This is secondary refuse that contained use surfaces. The existence of the surfaces was inferred from the presence of extramural walls.

Abandonment

Abandoned when occupation of the village ended.

Postabandonment Process

Covered by slopewash and wall fall.

Dating of Midden

Midden contains Pueblo III pottery; trash is assumed to have been deposited sometime during the one defined occupation of the site (A.D. 1256-1285).

Selection Criteria

Judgmental. Northernmost unit in a north-south series of three units along 130E line, excavated to sample midden associated with Structure 105, and to characterize cross-section of midden deposits in this area.

Other. Excavated in a combination of natural strata and arbitrary levels.
