General Location
Northwestern portion of site.
Specific Location
South-central portion of Block 1200; within 1-x-1-m unit 594N, 355E, and 2-x-2-m units 595N, 355E, and 597N, 355E.
Selection Criteria
1-x-1-m unit, 594N 355E was the first unit randomly selected for excavation in Block 1200, uncovering intact midden deposits, Nonstructure 1202; 2-x-2-m units, 595N 355E and 597N 355E were placed north of the 1-x-1-m unit to further define and collect intact midden deposits of Nonstructure 1202.
Use
Disposal of secondary refuse by residents from a nearby roomblock during the middle Pueblo II through late Pueblo III periods.
Abandonment
Secondary refuse was no longer discarded in this area after the late Pueblo III period.
Postabandonment Process
Natural sediments accumulated above Nonstructure 1202. Plowing disturbed the upper portions of the refuse deposits.
Dating of Midden
Secondary refuse was deposited in this area during the middle Pueblo II through late Pueblo III periods.
