Selection Criteria

Units placed south of remote sensing anomalies to sample associated midden; when tested, anomalies were caused by trash-filled pits.

Use

Disposal of secondary refuse by residents from a nearby roomblock during the late Pueblo II through early Pueblo III periods.

Abandonment

Secondary refuse was no longer discarded in this area after the early Pueblo III period.

Postabandonment Process

Natural sediments accumulated above Nonstructure 1312. Plowing disturbed the upper portions of the refuse deposits.

Dating of Midden

Secondary refuse was deposited in this area during the late Pueblo II through early Pueblo III periods.
