Nonstructure 251, extramural surface

About this Nonstructure

General Location

Central portion of site.

Specific Location

West-central portion of Block 200. South of Structures 222 and 223.

Selection Criteria

Placed south of Structures 222 and 223 to sample associated midden deposits; exposed Nonstructure 251.

Use

This is an extramural surface on which a masonry wall, Feature 1 (wall, other) was constructed. This wall was truncated by plowing, therefore it was unclear if this was once part of a structure.

Abandonment

This surface was no longer used after the late Pueblo II period.

Postabandonment Process

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 238) was deposited above this surface. Natural sediments accumulated above the refuse; the upper deposits were disturbed by plowing.

Dating of Midden

Secondary refuse (Nonstructure 238) was deposited above this surface.
