Nonstructure 105, midden

About this Nonstructure

No Surface
No Masonry

General Location

Central portion of the site.

Specific Location

Nonstructure 105 is under Arbitrary 104.

Selection Criteria

1-x-1-m excavation units were used to document deflated midden deposits.

Use

Nonstructure 105 is a light scatter of secondary refuse.

Abandonment

Not applicable.

Postabandonment Process

Natural processes (wind and water), and historic chainging and burning impacted the site.

Dating of Midden

Secondary refuse associated with the use or occupation of Block 100. Most of the diagnostic sherds recovered from this context reflect deposition in the Basketmaker III period, although some diagnostic Pueblo II pottery was also recovered. It is unclear if this secondary refuse is associated with a habitation in either the Basketmaker III or Pueblo II periods; it could be the result of intensive processing activities nearby.
