This area was used for the deposition of refuse, probably by the residents of the nearby roomblock.

Abandonment

Abandoned when occupation of this area ended.

Postabandonment Process

Midden was covered with aeolian and alluvial sediments.

Dating of Midden

This 40-to-50-cm thick midden contains pottery produced in the late Pueblo II and Pueblo III periods. The presence of Pueblo III White Painted sherds indicates that the refuse was deposited after A.D. 1100.
